Jan's Experience : 6 weeks at the Dog's Shelter
What is the project like? The dog shelter is a place where 40 dogs are taken care of, to keep them off the street, and prevent them from being killed, or else. There is only one men working there, Daniel. How do you go there and how much does it cost? You have to go to Huanchaquito, by bus or walking. It takes 10min by bus, and costs 50cents. What was your role in the project? I helped Daniel with everything: cleening the shelter, walking the dogs, do some fundraising, buy food for the dogs, keeping company to Daniel and the dogs. I was going there 2 to 3 times a week, for 2 or 3h, in the morning. Did you enjoy the experience? Yes, it was nice to be the dogs, eventhough, sometimes nothing really happens.
