Urgent/Hot Positions

Our projects are always in need of the valuable contributions made time and time again by our dedicated volunteers. Skilled professionals have been helping the projects in need directly, and/or providing technical advice to Otra Cosa Network to help us do a better job supporting all our projects and our volunteers. These professionals have been having a wonderful impact on the projects and the communities that they worked with.

★ Teaching/Assisting at a school for the partially deaf and blind

English teachers with experience or a willingness to work with people with disabilities and anyone with an intermediate level of Spanish and a desire to help are encouraged to apply! ★ HELP English

English teachers are needed to support our English language projects around Huanchaco and also in the mountains.  In Peru it is widely appreciated that speaking English can be an essential skills to open doors and broaden horizons. Our HELP English projects are expanding to organize extra activities and teaching other subjects through the English language. You can find more information about the project here.

★ Un Lugar Skate Ramp

We are looking to create a social worker position at the Skate Ramp in Cerrito de la Virgen to begin a system of tracking the progress of the children participating in activities at the Ramp. Volunteers who have worked with us on this project in the past have been aware of obvious improvements in reading and writing skills, better behaviour and mannerisms etc. but we would like to do more a more formal analysis. We want an experienced social worker to be able to fully assess the development of these children and to create a program that allows all the children to progress at an appropriate level. We are on the cusp of creating a really well-rounded project in Cerrito and this position will cement what we have been working to achieve at the Ramp. You can find more information about the project here.
