Their house is a 5 minute walk to the central part of Huanchaco and less than 10 minutes from the beach. All of Huanchaco is within walking distance from here, with the most distant of our Huanchaco volunteer projects, Mundo de Niños, about a 20 minute walk. All public buses can get you to anywhere in Trujillo and stop nearby.
Eliana speaks a little bit of English and Rosa can understand some English. If you want, Eliana can give you Spanish lessons. The one storey apartment is simple but decent with a little living room and a TV with DVD player.
This is a very nice option for people wanting to live in Huanchaco with a very friendly Peruvian family. Because food is not included, (only kitchen use) it is a fine option for a volunteer who wants to live with a Peruvian family, but doesn’t always want to eat together. In this calm house you can have a bit more privacy than in some other places. Rosa is a great cook, so if you want, you can prepare something together, and she also gives cooking classes of delicious Peruvian cuisine for additional 10 soles per dish (all ingredients included)

Rosa's house – Huanchaco
Prices (kitchen use included):
One single room with a private bathroom: 105soles per week (about U$ 38),
Two single rooms with a shared bathroom 84 soles per week (about U$ 30),
Rosa is a single mother who shares her house with her daughter Eliana, who is also a single mother, adding a 4 year old boy, Gabriel and a new born boy, Joaquim to the house. Gabriel is a lovely, but very hyper and loud child, which some volunteers find difficult to live with. Thus, we would recommend this place to child-friendly people. Rosa lives in a very quiet and tranquil part of Huanchaco, one block from the Otra Cosa Network office.
